U16 Girls in All Ireland Semi Final

U16 Girls Connacht Champions

Swinford will bid to reach another All Ireland Final on Thursday next when the U16 girls from Scoil Muire & Padraig take on Colaiste Oiriall of Monaghan town in the All Ireland Semi-final. Swinford won the Connacht Title last month with a victory over St Nathys of Ballaghadereen. Monaghan captured the Ulster title with a win over Magherafelt in their final. The game is scheduled for 12.15 at Corlough GAA Club in County Cavan. Click on Club name for driving directions. Swinford Killasser Girls on Mayo Teams

Congratulations to Amy McNicholas, Geraldine Walsh, Niamh Ansboro and Roisin Durkin who represented our Club in the Mayo Minor Ladies victory over Roscommon in the first round of the Connacht Championship today. Congratulations also to Aoife O’Neill, Alanagh Durkin, Grainne O’Neill and Siobhan Hennigan who have been selected on the Mayo Ladies Under 14 team for 2015.

Swinford Killasser Ladies GFC welcomes all our players, trainers and parents back for the 2015 season. We hope that it will be another enjoyable season for everyone.

Niamh Ansboro in action for Mayo

Friday was the first evening when all teams returned to training and judging by the large turnout, this is going to be another very busy season. We thank everyone who has offered to help out again this year and we urge more people to get involved. Please contact us if you can help out in any area in the Club.

We also urge all families to support Swinford Community Lotto which is run by Swinford Killasser Ladies GFC to fund the development of Swinford Amenity Park. This is the eleventh year that our Club has run the Lotto. This partnership provides facilities for use by our Club and by so many other Schools, Clubs and Groups in our community.

We extend an open invitation to anybody who wishes to join our Club; whether you are currently playing, have never played before or wish to take up playing again after a break. While Swinford Killasser Ladies GFC has a strong history of winning County titles on a regular basis, the enjoyment of sport and the associated social activities is a priority for our Club. As we do not want the cost of registration to be a deterrent to girls enjoying football, we will once again be subsidising registration this year. We also collect €1 at training which is used to subsidize this registration, fund team excursions and subsidize players merchandise. This year we intend to organise Club polo-shirts/training-tops for players.
