Bank of Ireland Brings A Dragon To Swinford
As you may have heard the economy is recovering and sunny days are around the corner and a sunny day it was in Swinford for Bank of Ireland’s(BOI) Business Expo in the fantastic new Library and Cultural Centre in Swinford.
Swinford was lucky enough to be selected as a Bank of Ireland Enterprise Town which is one of their new initiatives to support local businesses. This initiative represents a significant investment in promoting the town with Midwest Irish Radio broadcasting live from BOI, Swinford this morning, the Business Expo in the evening and tomorrow Scoil Muire agus Padraig will host a Sports & Community Expo from 11am – 2 pm with guests Mick Cockayne (Hardy Bucks), James Horan and Willie Joe Padden (up Mayo!) and of course our own celebrity Sean Nos dancer Tommy Stenson.
There was a great turnout of local businesses who got an opportunity to showcase their business and as highlighted by Swinford’s own Joanne Grehan, Head of Mayo Enterprise, it was a valuable opportunity to network with fellow business people and potential customers. BOI lined up a number of influential speakers who all had excellent advice for businesses, speakers included:
- Joe Gilmore, CEO of Ireland Airport West
- Joanne Grehan, Head of Mayo Enterprise
- Gavin Duffy, Entrepreneur, Mentor & Dragon Den Investor
- Aaron Forde, CEO, Aurivo Co-Operative Society & Chairman of the Irish Dairy Board
- Breian Carroll – Managing Director & Senior Agronomist, Carroll Consultancy
- Seamus Ferry, Senior Agri Manager, Bank of Ireland.
Congratulations to Rory and his team at Bank of Ireland and Swinford.ie are delighted to be associated with this event and initiatives like this are small steps that will help our town become great again. Take your time and enjoy our slideshow of pictures from the event #wemakeitwhatitis
