Healthcare Support Training
Mayo North East LEADER Partnership Company is organising a free Healthcare Support Training Course, QQI Level 5, in Swinford for unemployed people or people in part-time employment who are interested in pursuing a career as a care assistant. Garda Vetting must be successfully completed. Training will commence one day per week on 13th February 2018 and conclude in August 2018. This training is funded under The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme.
Resilience Building Course for Children in Swinford Cultural Centre – Course Started on Tuesday 16th January 2018
- 10-week programme to assist children build resilience and self-esteem.
- Working in small groups, the children will learn important skills and techniques to deal with everyday worries and stresses through fun and interactive activities.
- The course will be given by Laura Murtagh, Educational Psychologist and Primary Teacher.
- It will take place on Tuesdays at 4.30 – 5.30 for 7-9 year-olds and from 5.30 to 6.30 for 10-12 year- olds.

Swinford Indoor Country Market
Swinford indoor country market is back next weekend on Saturday February 3rd from 9.30 -2pm in The Cultural centre.
The monthly market is proud to offer patrons a wide range of locally sourced produce.
The Market stall holders have a fabulous range of breads, cakes, plants, vegetables, photography, Aloe Vera, food and a huge range of crafts. This month there is a visit from some new stall holders with excellent products and crafts.
You can relax and have lunch or a coffee in the railway cafe after your shopping.
Humbert Duathlon
Swinford Triathlon are hosting Series 4 of Ireland West Duathlon Series on Sunday February 25th 2018 at 10am. This is an open event and involves a 4.5 km run followed by a 20km cycle and ending with a 3km run. The course is flat and is suitable for both the novice and the more experienced competitor. If you do not feel like doing the full event, there is always the option of participating in a relay team. Further details relating to course and entry are available from www.swinfordtriathlon.com. Swinford Agricultural Show
The AGM of Swinford Agricultural Show will be held on Monday February 5th at 8pm in the Gateway Hotel. This is the 30th year of the Show. New ideas and new members will be most welcome.

Swinford GAA 50/50 Draw
This weeks draw was held in Horkans and Michael & Angela Leonard of Moylough, Tubbercurry, won €484.
