Swinford St. Patrick’s Day Parade-Postponed

Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control, the Swinford parade planned for this years St. Patrick’s Day is Postponed.
The Committee regret having to make this decision and are going to work on an alternative date once we are in a position to do so.

Daffodil Day Volunteers Needed

Swinford and District Gardening Club

Instructor Michael Jordan will give a talk on First Aid and a demonstration on CPR at the next Swinford & District Gardening Club meeting on Tuesday 24th March. It will take place in the Gateway Hotel at 8.30pm. All are welcome to attend. Non members €5.

Healthcare Support Training

Mayo North East is organising a free Healthcare Support Training Course in Swinford for unemployed people or people in part-time employment. On successful completion of the course learners will have gained a Healthcare Support QQI Level 5 Major award. Garda Vetting must be successfully completed. Co-Work@Swinford is a new shared office space on Main St, Swinford. You can rent a desk/workstation by the day, week, month or year and our meeting room with Video Conferencing facilities is available to rent by the hour, 1/2 day or day. The Active Minds Group in Association with Eunice Moran are hosting a learn to dance class.
Jive, Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Line Dance.

Swinford Comhaltas

Michael Davitt CCE (Swinford Comhaltas) music, singing, dancing and comhrá gaeilge classes continue every Saturday in Swinford NS from 12 pm. New pupils are always welcome. Yogalates & Bums & Tums

2 Yogalates Classes Run Every Monday In The Cultural Centre Swinford.
First at 1pm Lunchtime Yogalates, this is a 45 minute Class. The second is Yogalates By Candlelight at 7pm and runs for 1 Hour. Both Classes are For Beginners so join anytime and Classes are Pay As You Go. We start with Yoga Poses so you can start To Heal and Breathe Then Pilates For Strengthening Your Core, then we move on To Stretching To Renew Your Muscles and Help with Posture and Finish with Relaxation. Please Bring your own Mat, Blanket and Cushion. This is Good For Chronic Conditions, Anxiety, Arthritis, Asthma, High Blood Pressure & Fatigue To name a few. Swinford Go Getters

Swinford Go Getters are a social club which meet the second Thursday of each month in The Cultural Centre, Swinford from 10.30am to 12.30pm. We have been asked to have the games more often and are planning to try this in the early part of 2020. (We will advertise when dates/venues available) We are also available to come to your venue and do a demonstration for your group. (please ring to discuss)
The games are aimed at over 55’s include Boccia, Skittles, bucket ball Parachute and Horse racing games and many more. Groups/individuals are most welcome and games are designed to be played sitting or standing, just come along.
