Summer workshops – music and singing

Scoil Cheoil Siamsa Sraide 2018

The annual Comhaltas week of classes will run from July 30th to August 3rd this year.

We would prefer if places were booked in advance ( by Thursday 26th ) to facilitate organisation of classes and tutors but names will be accepted on the Monday 30th.

Classes will be held in Swinford NS

Tin Whistle ~ Flute ~ Fiddle ~ Banjo ~ Bodhrán ~ Concertina ~

Button Accordion ~ Singing.

Tutors include : Davóg Frayne, Brid Gleeson, Grace McDonnell, Stephen McDonnell, Joseph McNulty and Kathryn Noone among others.

One-hour Classes between 4pm and 6pm Mon-Fri (times to be allocated)

Fee for week €25 per student

(€40 for 2 children/2 instruments)

A night not to be missed!

Reeling in the years – one hundred years of life in Swinford celebrated with music, song, dance, poetry, drama and narration presented by Michael Davitt branch of Comhaltas Swinford and Friends in Swinford Cultural Centre on Monday Night August 6th at 8.30pm. This will be a great night’s entertainment so be sure to be there!

Street Parking

The Síamsa Sráide Committee would like to ask for the public’s help and support in not having any vehicles parked on the following streets until the collusion of the Festival.   Market Street from 6pm Mon Aug 6th, Main Street & Bridge Street from 9pm Mon Aug 6th.
This is to ensure that the two biggest days of the Festival the Heritage and Fair Day can run smoothly as the streets will be full of market & craft stalls, musicians etc.  All help and support to ensure that this can happen would be greatly appreciated.  Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Saturday Evening Mass Choir

Yogalates & Bums & Tums

2 Yogalates Classes Run Every Monday In The Cultural Centre Swinford.
First at 1pm Lunchtime Yogalates, this is a 45 minute Class. The second is Yogalates By Candlelight at 7pm and runs for 1 Hour. Both Classes are For Beginners so join anytime and Classes are Pay As You Go. We start with Yoga Poses so you can start To Heal and Breathe Then Pilates For Strengthening Your Core, then we move on To Stretching To Renew Your Muscles and Help with Posture and Finish with Relaxation. Please Bring your own Mat, Blanket and Cushion. This is Good For Chronic Conditions, Anxiety, Arthritis, Asthma, High Blood Pressure & Fatigue To name a few.
