2020 Swinford Agricultural Show Cancelled

To whom it may concern,
Swinford Agricultural Show Society Annual Show has been cancelled for 2020 due to Covid-19.
The decision was taken in view of the best Medical & Professional advice available to us.
Therefore we feel it would be irresponsible to contemplate any other out come.
As always we are deeply indebted to our Committee, Stewards, Sponsors, Competitors & the General Public for their outstanding support. Swinford Show is a community lead event for the enjoyment of all the community & much, much wider afield.
Here’s hoping for better times ahead & a brighter, happier 2021.

Angel Memorial Garden

A public meeting was held in the Gateway Hotel Swinford on the 16th of July 2020 @7.30pm with the aim of establishing a Community Project to organize the creating of an “Angel Memorial Garden” commemorating all the little lives lost too soon .Acknowledging  miscarriages, stillbirth, neonatal, infant and child loss, providing a place of comfort and love. There was a fantastic turnout on the night and everyone present  was very keen and excited to get this project under way as soon as possible. The meeting was Chaired by local lady Stephanie Maloney who has a blog”Smiling4Sophia” who after losing her own baby Sophia has been a great support for other parents both near and far. Stephanie welcomed everyone and gave a special welcome to local priest Father Dermot Meehan who joined everyone on the night. A committee was formed on the night and a follow up meeting will be arranged very shortly ..All very welcome to come along or if interested in anyway at all feel free to Contact Angel Memorial Garden Facebook page anytime or email angelmemorialgarden@gmail.com .
