Swinford Agricultural Show

The 31st Annual Swinford Agricultural Show takes place on Sunday 25th August at Heeran’s Farm on the Kiltimagh Rd. Show schedules are available at the Swinford 250 office on Market St and from www.swinfordagrishow.com Lots of entertainment on the day for everyone including music by The Irish Knights & Pat’s Country Roadshow. All entries to show office on Market St or show secretary at 087 7716028 or 087 9863634 no later than 1pm on Saturday 24th August.
There will be a Swinford Agricultural Show Memorial Mass on Tuesday the 20th of August at 10AM in Our Lady Help of Christians Swinford. All are welcome to attend

Swinford Go Getters

Swinford Go Getters are a social activities club for over 55’s who meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month. We play a variety of games including Boccia, bucket ball and parachute games. We also play skittles, ball and bean bag games which are part of the Go for Life Games designed to provide gentle exercise. You decide what you enjoy and you can try a variety of games or stick to one, it’s up to you. From time we add new games and are open to suggestions and new ideas. All games are designed to be played sitting or standing.
We are always looking for new members and if you would like to help out in any way, we would be happy to meet you. Just come along to any of our games mornings or call us on 087 904 9723

Illiterate about the Internet?
Scared of your Smartphone?
The ‘Getting Started’ programme aims to make over 55’s comfortable using a computer / tablet / ipad / smartphone and the internet. Tutoring is usually on a 1:1 basis in a relaxed atmosphere. Classes are 2 hours once a week for 5 weeks.
Where: Swinford Library
When: Wednesdays from 10.00am to 12.00 noon.
From: September 2019-June 2020.

Swinford Camera Club

Meetings take place in the Gateway hotel at 8pm on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month. If you are looking to take up a new hobby, why not try photography? Come along to a meeting and see if you’d like it. As always, new members are always very welcome, especially beginners.

Yogalates & Bums & Tums

2 Yogalates Classes Run Every Monday In The Cultural Centre Swinford.
First at 1pm Lunchtime Yogalates, this is a 45 minute Class. The second is Yogalates By Candlelight at 7pm and runs for 1 Hour. Both Classes are For Beginners so join anytime and Classes are Pay As You Go. We start with Yoga Poses so you can start To Heal and Breathe Then Pilates For Strengthening Your Core, then we move on To Stretching To Renew Your Muscles and Help with Posture and Finish with Relaxation. Please Bring your own Mat, Blanket and Cushion. This is Good For Chronic Conditions, Anxiety, Arthritis, Asthma, High Blood Pressure & Fatigue To name a few. Paddy Bollingbroke 30th Anniversary

To mark the 30th anniversary of the death of the late Paddy Bollingbroke (Gollie), four times All Ireland Handball Champion and all round sportsman, a commemoration ceremony to celebrate his life will be held in Mellett’s Emporium on Friday August 30th at 7pm (please note the change of date). The event is open to all.
Anniversary Mass for Paddy on Wednesday August 28th at 10am in Our Lady Help of Christians Church Swinford.
