Carol Service and Christmas Lights

To launch the countdown to ‘Swinford 250 and more’ and to mark the start of the Christmas season a Carol Service will be held in Swinford Parish Church on Thursday, December 6th at 7pm. The service will be a collaborative event involving the schools of the area and will be streamed online via Church Services TV. The online broadcast will allow Swinford Community to reach a worldwide audience, help connect with the diaspora and provide the opportunity to people at home and abroad to reconnect with Swinford. Following the Carol Service Swinford Christmas lights will be officially turned on. Everyone is invited to attend the first major event of Swinford 250 and more.

Swinford 250

2019 Promises to be a Great year for Swinford as the town celebrates 250 years and more. The next meeting will be held on Monday December 3rd in the Gateway Hotel at 8pm. All welcome.

Swinford Gardening club

Christmas Floral Demonstration by award winning florist Judi Roche, Balla Flowers in aid of Down Syndrome new Regional Centre Swinford Project in the Gateway Hotel Swinford on Tuesday 4th December at 8pm. Tickets 10 euro.

Swinford Indoor Country Market

Swinford Indoor Country Market will hold their festive Christmas Market weekend on Saturday December 1st from 9.30am-2pm & on Sunday December 2nd from 10.30am-3pm in the Cultural Centre, Swinford.
The festive market will have lots of tasty food stalls & locally sourced produce. There will be a fabulous range of breads, cakes, plants, vegetables, gift ideas, Aloe Vera and a huge range of crafts so all your Christmas shopping can be completed under one roof….. After all your shopping, you can relax and have lunch or a coffee in the renowned Railway Cafe. Face painting for the kiddies too.

Midfield Pipe Band

Midfield Pipe Band will be conducting an induction day for Piping & Drumming for beginners or any interested parties in the Swinford Cultural Centre (Meeting Room) on Saturday 1st December at 11am. Further info contact Eugene 087 6744121

 

Nollaig na mBan

Included in the calendar of ‘Swinford 250 and more’ is the celebration of Nollaig na mBan (Women’s Christmas) on Saturday, 5th January 2019 in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford. A lady’s night of fun which will include a sit-down meal, music, dancing and spot prizes. Tickets are priced at €30 per person. Mind your Mental Health Workshop for Family Carers’

Teresa Keane from Mental Health Ireland will be facilitating this workshop in the Safari Club, Castlebar, Co Mayo from 9 30am – 4 30pm on Wednesday December 5th. Swinford Camera Club

Swinford Camera Clubs next meeting is on today, Wednesday November 21st at 8pm.
As always new members are very welcome to join the club. Swinford Camera Club is a friendly, helpful and very welcoming group.
The club meet on 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 8pm, in the Gateway Hotel. If you are interested in photography, why not come along to a meeting.

Saturday Evening Mass Choir

The Saturday evening choir is looking for new members. Adults or teenagers with an interest in singing or playing music are invited to join the choir. Call up to the gallery any Saturday evening 6.30pm or contact Marie on 0872805222.

Swinford GAA 50/50 Draw

This weeks draw was held in Moores and Maria Groarke of Derryronane, Swinford won €488. The winning envelope was sold in Corrib Oil

There is a club meeting on Sunday 2nd December 6pm in Gateway Hotel. All members are asked to attend.

First at 1pm Lunchtime Yogalates, this is a 45 minute Class. The second is Yogalates By Candlelight at 7pm and runs for 1 Hour. Both Classes are For Beginners so join anytime and Classes are Pay As You Go. We start with Yoga Poses so you can start To Heal and Breathe Then Pilates For Strengthening Your Core, then we move on To Stretching To Renew Your Muscles and Help with Posture and Finish with Relaxation. Please Bring your own Mat, Blanket and Cushion. This is Good For Chronic Conditions, Anxiety, Arthritis, Asthma, High Blood Pressure & Fatigue To name a few. Home Sharers Required
