Swinford Men’s Shed Meeting
Swinford Men’s Shed will be holding a meeting on Thursday 29th January at 7pm in the Gateway Hotel. This meeting is being held in order to make decisions on what projects to develop and how to progress matters in the short and long term.
It is hoped that in the next six weeks to have the shed up and running in the old woodwork room of St. Patrick’s College, Swinford and work can begin on a number of new projects.
Tom Keville Tribute Concert
The Tom Keville Tribute Concert featuring Swinford Church Choir, Harmonica Choir, Moy Singers and the Michael Davitt Branch CCE will be held at 8pm on Saturday 31st January in the Swinford Cultural Centre.
All are welcomed to attend and admission is free.
Any donations / contributions received on the night will go to Mayo C.O.P.D and the Swinford Branch of St. Vincent De Paul.

Coolegrane Christmas Lights
Kevin Hughes would like to thank everyone who donated to his Christmas Lights display at his home in Coolegrane, Foxford. The donations collected amounted to €2703, which will be given to the Roisin Tansey Trust Fund.
Arthritis Walking Group
The Mayo Branch of Arthritis Ireland have started a new ‘Let’s Get Walking Together’ group for people living with arthritis and fibromyalgia in the Swinford and surrounding areas.
The walking group meets at 10am every Saturday morning at the Amenity Centre, Swinford for a gentle walk / stroll.

Operation Transformation Swinford
As highlighted in our featured article here, Swinford’s Operation Transformation Walks continue at 7pm on Wednesday evenings from Eurospar and at 6pm on Sunday evenings from the Gateway Hotel.
There are also Operation Transformation fitness classes being held at 7pm on Monday evenings in the Swinford Cultural Centre.
Everyone is invited to join in with these community activities.

Swinford Soccer Club senior training will commence after a meeting with the new management team on Tuesday 3rd February at 7:30pm.
New members are especially welcomed.

The Annual General Meeting of Swinford F.C. will take place at 8pm on Friday 6th February in the Gateway Hotel. All members are requested to attend.
Cycling Promotion Day
Swinford Cycling Club are hosting a cycle promotion day on Sunday 22nd February in the Amenity Park, Swinford at 10:30am.
This event is free and open to all levels of cyclist, but beginners are especially welcomed. It is planned to conduct presentations on club activities, bike repairs, tips on purchasing your bike, bike fittings, clothing and road safety. Following the presentations, there will be a short cycle for all bike riders to enjoy. There is no obligation on anyone to participate in this cycle but in order to experience the merits and enjoyment of group cycling, it is hoped that most people will join in. If you do intend to cycle, the organisers ask that you would ensure your bike is in proper working order and that you are in possession of a cycling helmet.
