The 31st Annual Swinford Agricultural Show Is On Sunday 25th August
Something for everyone at the Swinford Agricultural Show!
The 31st Annual Swinford Agricultural Show will be held once again in the wonderful 30-acre venue on the Kiltimagh Road, just off the N5, by kind permission of the Heeran family on Sunday 25th August 2019.
Swinford is celebrating it’s 250th year in existence as a town and in that time the farming community has grown from strength to strength alongside it. The Swinford Agricultural Show is one of the main events to be held during this year’s celebrations. The show’s committee are looking forward to having our community getting together as a whole to celebrate and enjoy this year’s show day. Agriculture is a fairly unique industry in so far as everyone in society, whether urban and rural, has a vested interest is its continued well-being.
This is a great day out for the whole family. Come along to see exhibits of top class cattle, sheep, horses, donkeys, poultry, farm and garden produce, arts and crafts, baking and all kinds of home industries and trade stands. Join in the fun of the potato-picking or turf-footing competitions or why not bring your dog to the dog show on the day and share the excitement of the competitions. There will also be Crazy Golf, Trampolines, Murphy’s Jumping Jacks and various food outlets for all the family to enjoy.
Admission is only €10 and for children it is free. There will be all kinds of entertainment to make this a memorable day out for them, including fancy dress, face painting, bonny baby competition and all the fun of the fair. We also strongly encourage all children to enter the ‘Junior’ section competitions.
If you have never entered an item in the show before, now is your chance.
Show Schedules can now be obtained from the Swinford 250 Office, Market St, Swinford. For full programme of events visit www.swinfordagrishow.com or follow ‘Swinford Agricultural Show’ on Facebook.
