Nollaig na mBan

Included in the calendar of ‘Swinford 250 and more’ is the celebration of Nollaig na mBan (Women’s Christmas) on Saturday, 5th January 2019 in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford. A lady’s night of fun which will include a sit-down meal, music, dancing and spot prizes. Tickets are priced at €30 per person. TY Mini-Company Bake Sale

The TY mini company students of Scoil Muire agus Padraig will be selling baked goods at their stall outside Tower Hardware Today, Wednesday 19th from 10am

 

Swinford & District Gardening Club

Swinford & District Gardening Club’s annual charity Christmas Floral Demonstration, on December 4th in the Gateway Hotel, was a great success.  Judi Roche of Balla Flowers created  superb arrangements on the night.  A “guess the weight of the cake” (kindly baked by Ann Taylor) attracted  hundreds of guesses. The eventual winner was Shirley Mooney, Ballyhaunis.

In total 2,540.00 euro was raised for this year’s chosen charity Down Syndrome New Regional Centre on the Kilkelly Rd, Swinford.

We would like to thank all those who  sponsored, supported or helped in any way. Your support for this truly worthy cause is deeply appreciated.

Saturday Evening Mass Choir

The Saturday evening choir is looking for new members. Adults or teenagers with an interest in singing or playing music are invited to join the choir. Call up to the gallery any Saturday evening 6.30pm or contact Marie on 0872805222.

Swinford Killasser LGFA Club

Congratulations to Swinford Killasser LGFA Minor team who won the League title on Saturday last against Westport, in a wet and windy Ballyhaunis.

Final score was Swinford/Killasser LGFA 8-16 – Westport LGFA 3-04. The Swinford/Killasser Captain Aoife O’Neill was awarded the player of the match and accepted the cup on behalf of her teammates form the LGFA county Secretary Kevin McDonald.
