Swinford Soccer Club AGM

The Annual General Meeting of Swinford F.C. will take place on Friday 6th February at 8pm in the Gateway Hotel. All members are requested to attend.

Computer Training Classes

Mayo North East will be holding computer training classes in Swinford Library on Monday 9th February from 10am to 2pm. The classes will run on each Monday thereafter for 4 weeks. Training will include an introduction to Microsoft Word, internet and email.

Places are limited and priority will be given to unemployed people. The classes are free but must be pre-booked.

Swinford GAA 50/50 Draw

This week’s 50/50 draw was worth €1058 and was won by John and Ann Sheehan of Ballyglass East, Charlestown.

The next draw will take place in Padraic Horkans, Swinford on Tuesday 10th February at 9pm.

Draw envelopes are widely available in Swinford’s shops and businesses plus you can also play online.

Swinford GAA Club would like to thank all our sellers of tickets, the players for going out every weekend selling tickets and everyone in the community who purchased envelopes. Your support is greatly appreciated.

New Swinford GAA Training Top

The new Swinford GAA training top is now available to buy online or in person from The White House.

Swinford Community Indoor Market

As mentioned in our featured article here, this month’s Indoor Market will take place on Saturday 7th February from 9:30am to 1pm in the Cultural Centre.

The Railway Cafe will be open for tea, coffee, cakes, scones and other delicious home made cuisine.

Please come along and support your local community market.

Residents Committees Meeting

A meeting to assist individuals who want to set up a residents committee in their housing estate will be held in the Gateway Hotel on Monday 16th February at 8pm.

It is important that housing estates have a committee as funding from Mayo County Council will only be available to those that have set up a committee and have a bank account.

The draw has been made for this years Michael Walsh Intermediate Cup and Swinford GAA have been drawn in Group 2 with Westport St. Patrick’s, Parke and Castlebar Mitchels.

There is one home game on Sunday 22nd February against Westport followed by two away games against Parke and Castlebar Mitchels on the 1st March and 8th March.

Any changes to the fixtures will be posted on Swinford GAA’s Facebook, Twitter and Website.

Barnacogue National School Enrolment Week

Barnacogue National School information and enrolment week will take place from Monday 9th February to Friday 13th February.
