Afternoon Tea Party
Swinford Christmas Festival will hold an afternoon tea party for Console on Thursday, December 3rd at 4 o’clock in the Gateway Hotel.
Cosy up to Console will be on display with their collection of tea cosies from all over Ireland.
Local entertainment will be provided along with tea, coffee & buns.
Admission €5.

Swinford.ie Christmas Social night will take place this Sunday night at 9 o’clock in the Gateway Hotel.
The community will be celebrating local County Award Winners Anne Lynch and the Swinford Pride of Place award.

Christmas Lights 2015
A church gate collection to help defray the costs of this years Christmas lights will be taken up on the weekend of Saturday December 12th and Sunday 13th of December.
All donations greatly appreciated.
Coolegrane Lights
Kevin Hughes Coolegrane, Foxford will once again be erecting his most colourful display of Christmas lights at his home. The Coolegrane lights are known to be one of the largest and most magnificient colourful display of Christmas lights in the whole of Ireland.
As usual a donation box will be placed at the gateway and this year Kevin has decided to donate all proceeds collected this year to the Multiple Sclerosis Fund.
The lights will be switched on at 7pm on Friday December 11th by Fr Padraig Costello P.P Foxford.

Christmas Floral Demonstration Charity Evening
Swinford & District Gardening Club are holding a Christmas Floral Demonstration by Gail of Eden’s Flowers Kiltimagh in aid of Guide dogs for the blind.
It will take place at 8pm on Wednesday the 9th of December in the Gateway Hotel.
Tickets are €10. All arrangements will be raffled on the night and in addition there will be other fabulous raffle prizes.
Please support this worthy cause and at the same time have a most enjoyable night.

The first Swinford Bubble football blitz will take place this Thursday night at 7pm in the Swinford Community Centre.
Each business is invited to enter a mixed team of 6 (3 males & 3 females).
Entry fee is €30 per team

Self Help Africa Collection
The annual self Help Africia, Gorta Church Gate collection will be held at all masses on the weekend of Saturday December 5th and Sunday 6th December.

Swinford Social Services thank all those who contributed to their recent Church gate collection, where €690 was raised.
The senior citizens Christmas party will take place on Sunday December 13th in Julian’s, Midfield at 3pm.

Barney’s Busy Bees Parent & Baby/Toddler group takes place every Wednesday morning from 10am to 12 noon in Barnacogue National School.

Operation Transformation
The Carers Association, Mayo are looking for participants from the Mayo area to take part in a 8 week Weight Loss Programme. This will be starting right after Christmas on January 8th perfect time for losing them extra pounds from the Festive Season.
Each participant will be fully supported by providing dietary advice, fitness programme and each person will receive a full make over afterwards with prizes going to the man & woman who loses the most weight.

Swinford Men’s Shed will hold a meeting in the Gateway Hotel on Thursday 3rd December at 8pm.
Manual Handling Training Course
A manual handling training course will be held in Killasser Community Centre, Swinford on Thursday 17th December from 12 noon to 3pm.
The course is free to unemployed people but must be pre-booked.

The under 21B championship final has been fixed for Saturday 5th December at 6pm in Elverys McHale Park, Castlebar.

50/50 Draw
This weeks draw for Swinford GAA 50/50 draw was held in Sheepwalk on 1st December and Regina Duffy c/o Sheepwalk won €631.00.
The winning envelope was sold in the Sheepwalk.
Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw in Horkans on 8th December. Draw envelopes are now also available at 3 for €5.
To kick start the Christmas next weeks draw will be a guaranteed €1,0000.
