Sunflower Appeal For Mayo Roscommon Hospice

 

Mayo Roscommon Hospice would appreciate any help available for National Sunflower Days for Hospice on June 10th and 11th.  The funds raised from this event will help those in your community who are living with life limiting illness and who depend on the hospice/palliative care team to help them through a difficult time in their lives. Any time you can give would be most helpful.

Support Group

Swinford Breastfeeding Support Group will meet in the conference room of the Gateway Hotel on Friday May 27th from 11am till 1  o’clock. The group plan to meet regularly on the last Friday of the month.

Social Dancing

Social Dancing commencing in the Gateway Hotel on Friday June 17th with music by Carmel McLoughlin and July 1st, Dermot McConnell. Dancing from 10pm – 12.30am.

Swinford Indoor Country Market

Swinford Indoor Country Market is on Saturday the 4th of June from 9.30-2pm at Swinford Cultural Centre (beside the new library).

This month we are celebrating our 2nd birthday and we have busy day planned packed with entertainment for all the family.

Our wide range of lovely stalls will be there with a variety of local produce, including: veg, cakes, breads, plants, crafts, jewellery and much more.
There will be a craft workshop running for the children and we are delighted to welcome the team from the Irish Donkey Welfare Organisation who will be fundraising for their charity.

The Railway cafe will also be there giving you the chance to sit down and relax whilst enjoying the live music and having a lovely cup of tea with some homemade cake.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing you all there.

 

Support Workers Vacancies

Family Carers Ireland in Mayo are currently forming a panel of reliable & trustworthy Support Workers in the following areas; Kiltimagh, Charlestown, Tourmakeady,  Kilmovee, Newport, Charlestown, Ballina, Westport, Swinford, Achill and Ballinrobe. Applicants must be prepared to be flexible to suit the client’s needs. Successful applicants will be placed on a Relief Panel and deployed as work arises.

ADHD Support Group Workshop

Family Carers Ireland will be running a workshop for Parents/Carers of children with ADHD.

This workshop will be presented by Michelle Dunlevy.

Michelle has worked with children & teachers for many years & Michelle will cover how best to support your child at home and at school.

This workshop will take place on the 9th, 16th and 17th June in the Mosaic Centre (Across from Shaws Department Stores) it will run from 10.00am-12.00pm

Family Carers Ireland, Mayo are starting off National Carers Week with a Day for Carers.

11.00am-2.00pm: Pamper morning

2.00pm-3.00pm: Questions & Answers with our Social Policy Manager; Clare Duffy

3.00pm-4.00pm: Laughter Yoga with Fiona Hoban

Free admission!! All Carers Welcome!!!

Food Safety Training

A Food Safety training course will be held in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford on Tuesday 21st June, 9.00am to 5.00pm.

The course is designed to introduce participants to food safety and hygiene issues and is based on the HACCP criteria set down by the Food Safety Authority of  Ireland. The course is free to unemployed people or part-time workers who are interested in working in the food industry.

50/50 Draw

 

Swinford-GAA-fifty-fifty-weekly-draw

This weeks draw was held in Julians Midfield and Mattie Carroll c/o Deirdre Carroll of Tullinacurra, Swinford won €609. Thanks to all our supporters.
Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw is in the Whitehouse on the 31st May. Draw envelopes are now also available at 3 for €5.

Topaz Cash for Clubs

The Topaz cash for clubs scheme is running again from the 16th May to August 7th. We were very successful in the draw in 2015.

Please collect your tokens when you purchase fuel at any Topaz station. The club number is 2853.

Siamsa Seipeil 2016

Siamsa Seipeil 2016 are very happy to announce that Our Lady Help of Christians Church will host from Aclare,County Sligo Tommy Fleming on Friday 29th July.
Tickets priced at €30 can be bought from www.tommyfleming.net and www.swinfordgaa.ie and in the real world in the Gateway Hotel, Melletts Newsagents and O’Connells pharmacy.

Mayo GAA Draw 2016

Swinford GAA Club are launching their club draw for 2016.  The annual subscription remains at €150.  The club draw is again structured this year to ensure each subscriber is getting value for their money and you will be entitled to the following for your €150 investment in the club;

1.     Club Membership – €20

2.       Entry to Senior Team home League games – €30

3.       County Board ticket – €100, which has a prize fund of over €50,000 and

4.       An entitlement to purchase an All-Ireland Senior Football final ticket should Mayo reach the final in 2016.

The officers of the club have decided to restrict the numbers in the draw this year to 120 people in order to limit the ticket demands placed on it should Mayo reach the All Ireland final in 2016.

Please contact any club officer as soon as  possible if you are interested in purchasing a ticket as we expect to sell the allocation within a couple of weeks.
