Help Goal During The Refugee Crisis

Goal have begun a campaign with Topaz, where people could drop in essential items to their local Topaz stations, there are two pick ups a week and the items go directly to the refugees. You can find the list of participating stations and further information at this link:

Two stations from Swinford are on the list and people are welcome to drop essentials to support the crisis. (Thank you to Orla Halligan for the information)

Annual WEEE Electrical Collection This Saturday

The annual free WEEE electrical collection Swinford will be in Tesco car park on Saturday 26th September. The collection will be open from 10 am until 4 pm. Last year there was 18 & 1/2 tonnes of electrical waste collected at the Swinford collection point. Any household item with a plug or battery will be accepted from large items such as fridges, dishwashers and tumble-dryers, to small household items such as remote controls, electric toothbrushes and everything in between. Adult Beginner & Improver Crochet Classes

In stitches wool and craft shop are starting a 6 week evening course starting the end of September (Midweek). Dates to be confirmed.

Upcycling With Chalk Paint Course

Redesign a picture frame and a vase with chalk paint. On Saturday 26th September at 10am to 1pm learn how to distress, wax, mix colours and colour wash.

Swinford Indoor Market On Sat 3rd October

Swinford Indoor Country Market is on Sat the 3rd of October from 9.30-2pm at the Swinford Cultural Centre. We have a busy day planned for the whole family.

As always our lovely stalls are there and we have a few new faces among them, a Craft Butcher, Woodcrafts, Veg, Cakes, Breads, Preserves, Plants and Crafts, will all be available.

The Railway cafe is there to sit down relax while enjoying live music and having a lovely cup of tea with a slice of cake.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing you all there.

Mayo Carers Association Are Having A Pop Up Shop & Need Volunteers

Mayo Carers Association are having a Pop Up Shop in Lough Lannagh Village on the 16th and 17th October from 10-5pm. We are looking for donations of children’s clothes and bric-a-brac. Swinford GAA 50/50 Draw

50/50 Draw

This weeks draw for Swinford GAA 50/50 draw was held in Sheepwalk on 22nd September and Molly Loftus of Killasser won €732. Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw in Horkans on 29th September. Draw envelopes are now also available at 3 for €5.
