Agricultural Show
The show will be held on Saturday August 20th and the committee are currently preparing the show schedule and it will soon be going to print. The show success is mainly dependent on local fund-raising and on the generosity of our valued sponsors.
Sponsorship request letters have issued to all the regular sponsors without which the show would not be possible.
The committee hope they can rely on your financial support again this year, ensuring the continued success of the Swinford Show. Please contact the committee early to ensure your name is published in the 2016 show schedule.
We are always looking for new sponsorship both business and individual to come on board and support the show. As a guide sponsorship ranges from €50 – €150 depending on the classes sponsored, but they welcome all contributions towards the show and receipts are issued to all sponsors.
A full list of sponsors including business details and phone numbers will be published in the 2016 Show Schedule. Sponsors are also listed on their website, Facebook page and on posters on the showground, the sponsored names are read out on the show day along with a word of thanks published in local newspapers following the show.

Summer Camps
Summer Camps will be running at Country Montessori Preschool at Collagh, Swinford for the month of July starting Monday 4th and finishing Friday July 29th inclusive.
The camps will run from 10am to 1pm daily and the cost per week is €50. Lots of indoor and outdoor activities.
Camps cater for 3 – 5 year olds.

Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation wishes to thank all the volunteers, hospice support groups and hospice shop staff for all their help with National Sunflower Days for hospice on the 10th & 11th June.
Also thanks to all those who gave so generously to the cause of hospice and to all the stores and businesses in Mayo & Roscommon for their kind co-operation.
All funds raised from the event will go solely to support local hospice palliative care services.

M.A.S. K Karate Club
“Cash for Clobber” declutter for summer, M.A.S.K Karate club are looking for all clean reusable clothing, handbags, belts, shoes in pairs, curtains, towels & bed linen for their annual fundraiser.
Bags can be given into Meelick Community Centre on Monday nights from 7pm to 9pm, Meelick Community Centre Sunday Mornings 11am – 2pm.
Brown Memorial Hall Foxford on Wednesday evenings 8pm -11pm from now till July 13th.

Swimming Pool
Kilmovee Swimming pool will be opening on Sunday 26th June at 3 o’clock. The pool opens from 3 to 8 o’clock for children, 8 to 9 pm for teenagers and 9 to 10pm for adults (Monday to Friday for adults only).
Swimming lessons will commence on Monday July 11th to Friday July 15th and safetys on Monday 18th to Friday July 22th.
Swinford Indoor Country Market
This month the Swinford Indoor Country Market will take place on
Saturday the 2nd of July from 9.30-2pm, in the Swinford Cultural Centre (beside the new library).
Our market boasts a wide range of lovely stalls, each bringing us a variety of local produce ranging from fresh vegetables, homemade breads, cakes and a selection of plants, through to a a mixture of hand made crafts and jewellery.
This month there will a short craft workshop running for the children and we are delighted to welcome back some familiar faces to the market.
Whilst visiting the market, why not take a while to sit down and relax at the fabulous Railway Cafe where you can choose from a selection of homemade cakes, quiches and other light bites, whilst soaking up the warm and friendly atmosphere and listening to the traditional live music.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
Support Workers Vacancies
Family Carers Ireland in Mayo are currently forming a panel of reliable & trustworthy Support Workers in the following areas; Kiltimagh, Charlestown, Tourmakeady, Kilmovee, Carracastle, Newport, Charlestown, Ballina, Westport, Swinford, Achill and Ballinrobe. Applicants must be prepared to be flexible to suit the client’s needs. Successful applicants will be placed on a Relief Panel and deployed as work arises.
All candidates if successful will be expected to have a full clean driving licence, supply two written references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting form.

Swinford GAA
50/50 Draw
This weeks draw was held in Moores and John Moran of Kilkelly Road, Swinford won €795. Thanks to all our supporters.
Envelopes are available in most business premises and online through www.swinfordgaa.ie where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10/25/52 weeks. Next draw is in the Quinns on the 28th June. Draw envelopes are now also available at 3 for €5.
Topaz Cash for Clubs
The Topaz cash for clubs scheme is running again from the 16th May to August 7th. We were very successful in the draw in 2015.
Please collect your tokens when you purchase fuel at any Topaz station. The club number is 2853.
Siamsa Seipeil 2016
Siamsa Seipeil 2016 are very happy to announce that Our Lady Help of Christians Church will host from Aclare,County Sligo Tommy Fleming on Friday 29th July.
