Turn Mayo Pink!

Mayo Pink Ribbon Charity Cycle takes place on April 30th, and we have people coming from all four corners of Ireland together with people from England, Scotland and US taking part in this event for breast cancer research.  The cycle will be stopping for a fruit and water stop in Swinford .

We are asking that Swinford and  parish will ‘turn pink’ and show their support, solidarity and welcome.

Organisers of the Mayo Pink Ribbon Charity Cycle are asking people to show their support for those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, and those who are cycling for breast cancer research through Ballina on Saturday April 30th, by decorating their homes and neighbourhoods in pink. Ribbons, flags, paint, scarves – anything will do, as long as it’s pink!

A total distance of 280 km from Thursday 28th April to 7th May 2016.

We are looking to highlight their effort and to drum up support. Eamonn and Mickey’s walk will see them passing through Dundalk, Carrickmacross, Foothill, Ballyconnell, Carrick-on-Shannon, Ballaghadereen, Swinford, Castlebar, Westport and finally arriving in Murnisk on Friday 6th May. Each day will see them in a new town. They will endeavour to climb Croagh Patric on Saturday 8th May.

We are hoping that people will see them and walk a few kilometres with them to encourage them on this very special ‘Sponsored Walk’. They have a Facebook page: ‘Bronach to Patrick’ that people can follow to watch their progress and to help them raise funds. They also have a Just Giving number for donations : KPCR15 followed by the donation amount to 70070.
