Swinford Notes 16th March 2016
The Katrina Armstrong Award
Do you think there is someone in the community whose contribution deserves special recognition? Scoil Muire agus Padraig present an annual award to someone who goes above and beyond for the good of the community.
Scoil Muire agus Padraig for the last few years have presented The Katrina Armstrong Award to a member of the local community whom they feel deserves to be recognised for their voluntary work and commitment to the community.
The award is named in memory of Katrina Armstrong, Killasser, Swinford. She was a much loved and admired past pupil who became ill in second year and displayed bravery and dignity in the last few months of her life. Each year the Student Council seek nominations from the people of Swinford and then they select the awardee whom they feel deserves to be acknowledged and thanked.
Nominations are now being taken for the 2016 award.
Nomination boxes will be left in local businesses around Swinford.
