Junior Championship

Swinford GAA made the trip to Louisburgh on Saturday evening (6th June) for Round 1 of the Junior Championship and the gulf between the teams showed as the home team won by 2-11 to 0-8. Our young team put in a good display against one of the favourites for the championship.

Swinford scorers: Kevin McDonagh 0-4, Paddy Ward, Darren Campbell, Sean Brady, Gerry Callaghan 0-1 each.

Senior League Division 1C

Swinford GAA Seniors got their season back on track with a win at home to The Neale by 2-13 to 1-11 on Sunday 7th June. Goals in either half by Barry Brennan and Jack McDonnell plus some fine points from Stephen Henry saw us take the two league points.

Swinford scorers: Jack McDonnell 1-3, Barry Brennan 1-1, Kevin McShea 0-4, Stephen Henry 0-3, Liam Moran, Tom Horkan 0-1 each.

50/50 Draw

This week’s Swinford GAA 50/50 Draw was held in the Gateway Hotel on Tuesday 9th June and Tommy Dyna Feeney won €711.

Tommy purchased his envelope in Tower Hardware.

Next week’s draw will take place in Moore’s on Tuesday 16th June.

Draw envelopes are available in most local business premises at €2 each or 3 for €5. You can also enter online through the Swinford GAA Store where tickets can be purchased in bundles of 10, 20, or 52 weeks.
