Siamsa Sráide – The Final Instalment!
This is the fourth and final instalment of vintage footage from Siamsa Sráide and thank you to Breege Rowley for putting them together, it was great to see so many faces who have unfortunately passed away.
Siamsa Sráide is a free street festival and it is the longest running festival in Ireland. It is testament to the festival, and the organising committee, to see how popular the festival has been over the years and this year we will be celebrating the 31st anniversary! This years line up of events is available to download on Mellett’s Emporium website.
There will be a screening of “Reeling Back The Years” in the Gateway hotel on the 3rd of August at 8pm. Tickets are very limited for this event and will be distributed on a first come, first served. Breege has asked that if anyone has any footage of Siamsa Sraide going back over the years, or footage of any social event from any of the communities that make up Swinford, to bring them to the event and they can be copied on the night. The aim is to make an archive of footage for future generations.
