Humbert Challenge Triathlon Returns to Swinford in June
Humbert Challenge Triathlon … Only 4 Weeks To Go!
On Sunday 28th June 2015, The Humbert Challenge Triathlon will once again take place in Swinford, hosted by local triathlon club Swinford Tri Sports. This event has gone from strength to strength and attracts it fair share of high calibre triathletes. This year is no different with a dozen or so contenders in both races across male and female categories gunning for a podium finish. You can check out the results of last year’s event here.
The Humbert Challenge Triathlon is an Olympic standard triathlon which replaced the Half Iron Challenge that took place every year since 2009. It entails a 1500m swim across beautiful Callow Lake, followed by a 40k cycle through scenic Pontoon and the race will finish with a 10km run over a flat stretch around the town of Swinford. The event will finish at Swinford Amenity Park.
Swinford Tri Sports were formed in 2009 as a non-profit club whose main aim is to promote sporting activities in the Swinford area and neighbouring towns and they are doing a great job. On Saturday 30th May at 10:30am at the Amenity Park in Swinford, a few of the members will be cycling and running the course on a first dry run, a chance for them to see the course and try part of it. They also hope to start their Callow swims pretty soon, more details of which can be found on their Facebook page ‘The Humbert Challenge’.
Swinford Tri Sports would love to see you at the race or becoming a club member in 2015. Swinford Tri Sports continues to provide regular training and new members are always welcomed.
