Kirby’s Heroes head for Glory Again!!!
Local Fitness Group to take part in Mayo Mud Run
Since completing their ‘Hell and Back’ Challenge last October a group of fitness fans have had the wheels in motion to take on yet another mission of strength and will power…this time involving mud, muck and sweat in the fields of Moygownagh.
Karen Clynch and members of the Kirby Fitness Group are heading off on Saturday 28th March to have a great muddy day out at the Mayo Mud Run, an 8km cross-country obstacle course! A unique event that combines road and field cross-country running, through water, mud and forest trails, across natural and man-made obstacles.
Kirby Fitness Group is a fantastic group of men and women who are not only interested in gaining a level of fitness but also eager to work as a team and enjoy the comradery that exists between them.
As with all of the endeavours this group sets out to accomplish, weekly training sessions geared specifically for the event have taken place over the last couple months in Meelick, with great numbers turning out every week no matter what the weather or physical condition.
This challenge as well as ‘Hell and Back’ was organised by Karen Clynch, Kirby Fitness’ MVP. Karen has gone out of her way to organise such a great day (and night) out. As well as organising the team, she has also arranged for all funds raised to be donated to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.
If you are interested in sponsoring any of the athletes contact Karen Clynch or Kirby Fitness on Facebook. If you’re looking for a great night out with a wonderful bunch of people join them in The White House this Saturday 28th March for a much needed and well earned celebration.
From all here at Swinford.ie we wish Kirby Fitness Mud Runners the best of luck on the big day and we hope you raise lots of funds for a very deserving cause.
