My frandmother was a Duffy, as you know you can hit a Duffy on the head all around in Mayo, but I took my mom and dad to see where she grew up outside a bit of Swinford, and we actually met people who knew the family and guided us to the house she grew up in...it was magical, and her spirit was there,,,i have never felt so peaceful as in Ireland, my pop is from donegal, it feels like home...thank you

My grandfather was born in Rubble/Kilasser/Foxford/Swinford around 1865 and came to the US around 1886. I believe he had brothers and sisters who remained in ireland. His name was John F Mc Nicholas. Does anyone know of any possible relatives?
Thanks, Jack McNichols

I am interested in Swinford because my Great-Grandmother, Bridget J. O'Connor was born there in about 1866. She came to the United States and settled in the Chicago area. She had siblings by the name of Thomas, John, Margaret and Micheal O'Connor. A niece and nephew of hers, Kathleen and Jack O'Connor, ran a radio shop in Swinford, when I was a child, and I wrote to them. I am now 60. I cannot recall when they passed away, but it was sometime between 1950-1970, I believe. I would like to connect with any current relatives of the family. I am working on the family tree.
